1. The Classic New Orleans Cocktail – The Hurricane
If you want to try an original Mardis Gras Hurricane, here are the three ingredients you need: lemon juice, passion fruit syrup and dark rum.
One Cocktail:
- 1 oz of passion fruit syrup
- 2 oz of dark rum
- 1 oz of lemon juice
Combine these ingredients in an ice-filled shaker.
Shake and then strain it into a glass filled with cubed/crushed ice.
Garnish with a cherry and an orange slice and enjoy!
2. Sparkling Pear & Cranberry Cocktail
Icy Moscato d’Asti makes this cocktail sweeter than Champagne, yet lighter than a dessert wine made from the same Italian moscato grapes.
8 Servings:
- 32 oz of Moscato d’Asti wine
- ½ cup of pear nectar
- 2 Tbsp dry cranberries
- 8 small sprigs of rosemary
Place cranberries in small bowl and add 2 Tbsp of warm water.
Soak 15 minutes.
Drain.
Pat dry.
Refrigerate.
Time to Make the Cocktails:
Divide the pear nectar among eight Champagne glasses.
Add the cranberries.
Carefully pour Moscato d’Asti into each glass and use the rosemary sprig as garnish.
Now, savor the flavor!
3. Lemon Champagne Cocktail
Anyone who loves lemon will enjoy this cocktail. It is strong, tart and refreshing.
One Cocktail:
- 1 oz gin
- 4 oz Champagne
- 1 ½ tsp superfine sugar
- ½ oz lemon juice
- 2 maraschino cherries
Pour the Champagne, lemon juice and gin into a Champagne flute.
Spoon in the superfine sugar.
stir until completely dissolved.
Drop in cherries.

4. New York Cocktail
This cocktail is perfect for New Years Eve. Imagine, you can be home watching the Times Square countdown waiting for the ball to drop while holding a New York Cocktail in your hand! This cocktail is sweet, thick and goes great with chocolate desserts and fruit.
One Cocktail:
- 1 tsp superfine sugar
- ½ tsp grenadine
- 2 oz light blended whiskey
- 1 oz of lemon juice
- Lemon twist
Pour all ingredients into a shaker filled with ice.
Shake well.
Strain drink into a cocktail glass (preferably chilled).
Add lemon twist as garnish.

5. Raspberry Chocolate Kiss Cocktail
Chef Michael Schulson created this scrumptious cocktail for Valentine’s Day but it makes for a great start to the New Year as well.
One Cocktail:
- 3 finely crushed chocolate cookies (without filling)
- ¼ cup of mint-infused simple syrup
- 10 raspberries
- 2 Tbsp cranberry juice
- ¼ cup vodka
- Ice cubes
Prepare the Rim
Place the crushed cookies into a shallow dish.
Fill another shallow dish with the simple syrup (just enough to cover the bottom).
Invert the martini glass into the syrup and then promptly into the cookies.
Create the Drink
Place the raspberries into a cocktail shaker.
Crush with muddler.
Add the simple syrup.
Muddle again.
Add the cranberry juice and vodka.
Fill the shaker with ice cubes.
Shake well (until chilled).
Strain drink into prepared martini glass to be served immediately.
